Graphic House, Incorporated began in the basement of a rented Wausau, WI apartment in the summer of 1976. H. Bren Hartinger, owner and founder, had arrived in Wausau to work for another sign company fresh out of school. After graduating from the Chicago Institute of Lettering and Design Bren moved back to the Central Wisconsin area. The employment was short lived, and within three weeks he found himself out of work. Not wanting to move again, Graphic House, Incorporated was founded.
Starting with barely $300 in his pocket, Mr. Hartinger went door to door trying to market his talents as a sign painter. He lettered windows, doors, vehicles; painted wood signs and anything else that didn’t require expensive tools or equipment to complete the work. As years went by and profits began to grow, the business moved out of the basement and into a building located off Sherman Street. In 1981, the company again made a move to its current location at 9204 Packer Drive. As the company grew, the vision also began to change, becoming more focused on the electrical side of the sign industry. Currently, our production facility occupies a 32,000 square foot manufacturing building, utilizing a fleet of four crane trucks, three bucket trucks, one dump truck and 27 other vehicles and trailers, and digging equipment. Graphic House employs approximately 40 people to service our clients, adding up to an estimated 300 years of sign experience within our facility alone. We have a very loyal staff of hard working, well-trained and educated individuals, with an average of 10 years or more experience of working with us. |
The quality of our product and service has allowed us the opportunity to serve national accounts, such as Pick ‘n Save Foods, Hollywood Video, Wickes Furniture, Target Stores, Caterpillar and many others. Regularly servicing a three state area with service offered out of a Milwaukee office.  Graphic House is the only sign company in North Central Wisconsin that carries two Underwriters Laboratory listings: one to manufacture sign cabinets and one to manufacture and install border glass neon. Investing heavily in high-tech equipment has allowed us to computer cut graphics out of aluminum, foam and wood. Graphic House has the only CNC folding machine in the area, allowing us to provide the highest quality cabinet fabrication. We also have the only state-of-the-art Eurocom neon pumping system, giving us the highest quality neon production. Graphic House is dedicated to providing the highest value of product, on time, to each and every customer. |
